The Depth
What is there to conquer
But the abyss of your own soul
Naively I dove straight down
Then something grabbed ahold
I thrashed at the darkness
I fought against the unknown
I battled to get back
No longer in control
In solitude I despaired
And thought myself lost
But my breath held out
And I found I was not
The depth I came to reach
Was previously unknown
And I would not trade the pain
Of all the things I faced alone
What I was is still here
But now I am more
I can swim in the depths
No fear to explore
